\"\"<\/a>People are sometimes offended when I refer to children being brainwashed in government-run schools. I’m not sure why, though, when the evidence is as clear as it is.<\/p>\n

The latest example of worship of the state comes from Houston, where kindergarteners were required to learn a chant about Barack Obama<\/a> for a Black History Month program.<\/p>\n

Some of the lyrics are just mind-numbingly trivial, but others make it clear what we’re supposed to think of the Great One:<\/p>\n

Conservative radio show host Joe Pagliarulo<\/a>\u00a0received a copy of the instruction sheet for teachers about the chant, including the lyrics. It said, “Attached is a chant about President Barack Obama. All Kindergarteners will be required<\/em> to learn the chant for the Black History program.” [Emphasis mine]<\/p>\n

Nobody at the school would answer any questions about it, but a spokesman for the school district defended the chant and said the lyrics that were given out weren’t the ones actually used for the program. The spokeswoman didn’t know how they were changed, though, so I tend to believe the sheet that was leaked to Pagliarulo was pretty accurate.<\/p>\n

My bet is that most people who are upset about this are upset because it’s a specific president being praised. I’m sure we could find examples of Republican presidents being lauded in conservative districts. That’s one level of bad propaganda, but there’s another level that most people ignore.<\/p>\n

Children are taught in most schools to worship and obey the state. That’s not something that a few teachers simply slip in. It’s a deliberate part of the system to indoctrinate them to be “good citizens.” That’s brainwashing, whether it’s for a specific president or party or ideology \u00a0— or for the whole secular religion that most people want their kids to worship.<\/p>\n
