He is content to \u2018drift\u2019 instead of using his abilities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In math, he missed the final exam and the teacher wrote, &#8220;He is certainly on the road to failure if this goes on.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>His teachers clearly didn&#8217;t think much of him. By the accepted standards of the world, he was heading toward failure. Surely he would become a nobody &#8212; because he refused to fit into the box that the world was trying to push him into.<\/p>\n<p>Because of his work with <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Beatles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the Beatles<\/a>, though, Lennon turned out to be a pivotal <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Beatles%27_influence_on_popular_culture\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">cultural figure<\/a> of the 1960s. He will be remembered long after everyone has forgotten those experts who judged him.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->So if people don\u2019t \u201cget\u201d you and they think you have the wrong goals and they think you&#8217;re misusing your energy, they might be right. <em>But they might be wrong.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>You might be the next John Lennon of your chosen field.<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t give up your chance to be yourself.
