After listening to the entire album, I found it remarkable how well the emotions of that music match my own heart at this point in my life. Bob Bennett\u2019s \u201cMatters of the Heart\u201d came out while I was in college. Even after all these years, it holds up really well, and you can listen to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_l6EysrGK-rrpioA343qJgdlgdLFqBGB_I\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">entire album on YouTube<\/a>. The specific song which matched my feelings last night was \u201cMadness Dancing,\u201d but I still find every song on the album to be strong with the exception of the eighth and ninth. (The song about his parents, called \u201c1951,\u201d is especially poignant.) In fact, the opening and closing songs paint a picture of my heart at its best now in these lines: <i>\u201cA light shining in this heart of darkness,\u00a0A new beginning and a miracle,\u00a0Day by day the integration of the concrete and the spiritual.\u201d<\/i> It\u2019s old music that you\u2019ve\u00a0probably never heard, but it means a lot to me.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After I wrote last night about being happy, I thought of an old song that mirrored what I was feeling.
