Were you on my website early Sunday morning \u2014 around 3:30 a.m. central time? Probably not, but if you happened to be, you would be represented on one of the dots on this map in my software showing the general location of my readers at any given moment. (The bigger the dot, the more readers from that city in that moment.)<\/p>\n

It\u2019s pretty cool, but it\u2019s not especially useful. There used to be a different tool that could show me detailed information about exactly where readers were coming from during a full day (or any other period), but that tool is no longer available.<\/p>\n

Today, I have only the vaguest notion of where my readers are coming from \u2014 and I\u2019d really like to understand more. Would you be willing to help me? It would take only a few seconds of your time.<\/p>\n

Please drop an email to me<\/a> just to give me your name and where you’re reading from. You can say more if you want. You can tell me how you came across my site and what sorts of things you come for. You can tell me what you had for dinner last night or what your shoe size is or the color of your car. Or whatever you have on your mind. But that’s purely optional.<\/p>\n

All I’m really asking for is a name and location. Anything else you include is just a bonus.<\/p>\n

Historically, about 50 percent of my readers have been from the U.S. and I suspect that’s still about the same, but I can’t tell which cities are home to the strongest readership. It would be great to at least have some basics.<\/p>\n
