I’ve started noticing over the last week or so that there are different sorts of fear. Yes, there are a lot of specific fears, but I’ve suddenly become very aware of one basic differences between the types of fear.
Almost everybody who is aware of what’s going on in the world is afraid right now. We have just entered a dangerous time, so it’s rational to be afraid. But some people seem paralyzed by their fears and other people seem energized by their fears.
And these wildflowers in my back yard taught me the difference Friday afternoon.

Hidden chains need to be broken, so I’ve become a reluctant rebel
Practically and legally, it’s true: Good fences make good neighbors
Peshawar murders show need to support those who share our values
To stay sane and fight life’s battles, we aliens need places of sanctuary
Until I can have the family I need, I’ll spend my Thanksgiving alone
World has become a freak show, but we’re not supposed to notice
Tell me the music you listen to and that’ll reveal a lot about you
Banning access to guns won’t prevent the evil in human hearts
Has it really been so long since I’ve been ‘real’ with someone?
